Visual Detection and Recognition of Drug Markers in a Mobile App

C.V.G.-U.P.M. has developed the Image Processing and Pattern Recognition algorithms included in the application  VinciPort® which is  the first mobile app for drug detection,  contracted by VinciLab Healthcare, S.L. (www.vincilab.com)

Until now drug dconsupmtion has been detected manually and only very recently some companies have start to automatize this process with very costly and non-portable devices.

This new solution called VinciPort® allows a quick on site detection of drug consumption, whish results are immediately sent for centralized control and storage.

This product process the images of the chemical saliva test taken by a mobile phone, in order to determine the presence or not of certain visual indicators. Several image-processing algorithms have been developed in order to localize the region of interest in the image, its visual normalization, feature extraction and final recognition.
