  Ignacio Mellado-Bataller

  Master student

  Universidad Politécnica Madrid

Ignacio achieved a degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain) in 2005. He wrote his degree thesis at Dresden University of Technology (Germany) on multiobjective optimization of broadband power line communication networks using genetic algorithms.
Since 1998, he has been working for different companies in Information Technologies, Communications and Automation. In 2005, he decided to start an engineering company with two friends. The adventure lasted for three  years.
After that time, he realized he needed some fresh air in his career (and some robotics knowledge) and enrolled in the master in Automatics and Robotics of the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2009. Once there, he started to work with the Computer Vision Group in a challenging project, designing visual control systems, software architectures and communication networks for unmanned ground vehicles. Currently, he is also finishing his master thesis on visual control for quadrotors.
