Student from Northwestern Polytechnical University in China finishes his research stay in our lab

Bin Zhou successfully finishes his research entitled "Design and Manufacturing Technology for Mini/Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles" that has been developed during a six month stay in our lab.

This work has been supported by the State Scholarship Fund of China, thanks to the relationship of the Northwestern Polytechnical University (China) and our Universidad Politecnica Madrid.

His job has used rapid prototyping technology applied in the design and manufacturing of UAVs. Models of the UAV parts are designed with 3D mechanical design software Autodesk Inventor and then manufactured using the 3D printer. To meet the peculiar requirements of each part, different design points are considered. Particularly, all the parts are designed with special attention to ergonomics, thus making them user-friendly. The accuracy and tolerance are also taken into consideration in order to coordinate with the original systems/parts.

It has been a real pleasure to have Bin Zhou in our lab during these months. We wish him all the best in his brilliant future.
